And I am now going to start saying Twenty-Ten.

20090701 (Wed):

Wednesday we arrive around 3ish.. Started unpacking and setting up the tent and then cracked open the beer and tequila by 4:30ish.

When we arrived, it was gray and dreary, and it rained at some point.  Then the sun came out and teased us.  Carolyn actually changed her shirt from the agent orange t-shirt to her purple tank top (later [must have been the next day or so], in the pavilion, there was a slide show, and Carolyn’s picture from last x-day was featured.  A bit after that, Carolyn realized she wore that same purple tank top on the first day of last x-day and the first day of this x-day.  Hehe).

Around 7ish, the rain came back.  Carolyn, Clint, and Orpheus Stain high-tailed it to our tent.  Carolyn drfited off to sleep to the sound of rain and Clint & Orpheus chatting.  Later, she woke up, and the tent was empty.  It was still raining, but she decided to get up and track down everyone.  She got a poncho, and went off to the main pavilion.  Clint was there with Legume and some others.  Clint asked Carolyn if she got the cigarettes, and she said no.  So Clint decided to get them.  He left and Carolyn chilled with the people.  When Clint came back, he had two beers, the raven bobblehead? and no cigarettes.  So  Carolyn decided to get them at that point.  So she went to the tent and back and when she got back, nobody was at the pavilion anymore.  Clint was nice enough to leave her beer next to the bobblehead on the table.  A nice man was walking along and stopped by to chit chat with her for awhile.  He was staying in an RV up the hill towards the north pavilion.  After a bit, Carolyn was like, “I guess he’s not coming back” and so she parted ways to go find him.  She walked back towards the tent and eventually she was talking to Brainleak and Clint walked up.  Carolyn said “There he is!”  Clint was talking in tongues.  Words were coming out of his mouth, but there was no semblance of any sentences.  Carolyn asked “Are you drunk?”  She thinks he said yes.  Then he said he needed to pee and went to the flushers.  That was the last anyone saw of him until 1-2 am.  When he came out of the flushers, he collapsed on the ground.  Dr. Agonfly was unfortunate enough to have been talking to Carolyn when this happened, and he was trying to help get Clint not to pass out by the “shitters”.  Popess Pantiara walked by, so Carolyn, Dragonfly, and Pantiara were attempting to move Clint from right in front of the flushers.  We got him across the road, and then some other people convened to help.  Carolyn was freaking out quite a bit because she had never seen Clint like this without absinthe involved, and at least then he wasn’t collapsed on the ground.  So the 5 people helping to move Clint was a blur.  However, there was one guy who really took the situation to hand and made sure Clint was taken care of, and then escorted Carolyn up to the pavilion to get some official help.  At the time, he wouldn’t give her his name, but later she found out it was Rob/Teeters.  He had made sure to put a trash bag spread out under Clint, and gave him a roll of paper towels as a pillow, and he made sure the sleeping bag was over Clint.  So, Clint was passed out in a puddle by modemac’s tent for hours.  Carolyn kept going back ever hour or so to make sure he was ok.  She spent most of the night hanging out with dr. Agonfly and rob, and some others.  She spent some time with Dr Agonfly and Legume, who called Dr Agonfly “Jiffy Pop” because he was hyper from an energy drink.  Later, Legume opened up his trench coat to show his speedos and invite her to bed.  Tiki and drgonfly were there at that time too. dragon fly and Carolyn then decided to go up the studio to check out the movie.  The movie had people talking, and moving a lion head and making it talk and that was enough of that.  Jim Jones was passing out gin & tonics.  So Carolyn chatted with Jim Jones, Orpheous Stain, Stang, and Dragonfly for a bit.  cloves were smoked.  Dragonfly and Carolyn checked on Clint again and then went back to the movie.  After a bit, dr agonfly went to bed, but Carolyn stayed with rob and orpheus stain.  Eventually everyone was going to bed.  Princess Wei was going to bed with a large lord of the rings glass of Riesling.  Stang is like, “you better finish that, I have to be up in 12 hours” she said it’d be gone by the time they got to bed.  Carolyn still don’t know if she finished it or not.

At some point, Modemac went to bed, but since Clint was passed out in front of his tent, he was trying to get him to move.  So Dr. Agonfly and Carolyn dragged him away towards the car.  We tried to get him to go into the car, but it was impossible.  After everyone went to bed, it was just Carolyn & orpheus who said that he’d help get Clint into the car.  Carolyn was skeptical because it took 5 people to move him that far, and dragonfly and Carolyn could only drag him 5 feet away from the mud puddle to the car.  But when they got to the car, Clint had come down enough to be coherent again and was actually able to stand himself up and head to the flushers to pee and get himself into the tent.  Yay!

Since Clint’s sleeping bag was wet, and Clint was soaked to the bone, Carolyn gave him a new shirt and her sleeping bag, and then climbed in with Clint’s sleeping bag.  Then she found out she didn’t understand how to get into it, or even which end was the top and which was the bottom.  Her feet were also wet and cold and soaked.  It sucked that the tent was leaking and the zipper was broken.

20090702 (Thu):

Thursday was wet and cold and rainy also.

Quote: “Remember when you were dead?”

On Thursday, Carolyn & Clint were looking for their chairs to take the pavilion.  They weren’t at the camp site, they weren’t in the car, and they weren’t at the pavilion.  Clint wondered if they had even been bought, but Carolyn saw him put them in the car, and she also would have noticed them on her final “did I forget anything?” check.  After hanging out at the pavilion, we got an awesome cheeeseburger and nachos from the café.  we got nachos and peppers and they didn’t chince on the peppers.  Each bite had a pepper.  Awesome. Tangent and others had hung out at that shelter drinking beast ice and chilling before Clint had woken up.  So Tangent was pretty smashed by the time we got those nachos.  Heheh  We didn’t see him again until the next day

After nachos, we wandered around a bit… then Clint said, “Check out those houses” and Carolyn looked and was like, “Dude, those are our chairs”  Clint had no recollection of ever being there.

We checked out the north pavilion on Thursday and again on Friday.  Thursday there was supposed to be breakfast, but we took our time getting there, so there were only a couple of pieces of bacon left.  Friday was supposed to be the slip n slide but everyone had eaten turkey and were pretty chill.  Carolyn took a nap at that point and left Clint.

Carolyn got up and hung out at Rob & Wilhelm’s shelter.  People would come and go, so she met Lloyd, Spike Jones, Dildo Valerie, Kate, Wilhelm, along with also Two Beans, Rob, Dragonfly.  She thinks she spent 5 hours straight sitting at that shelter with everyone coming and going and only leaving myself to use the flushers.  It worked out because the people would come and go and stuff.  When Clint woke up, we went to the main pavilion where the 2-hour of hour of slack happened.  I guess the buldada auction aslo happened.  The couscous happened.  It was awesome with the goya chicken broth packet.

On Thursday, Clint showered and Carolyn chatted with Pisces who said that Orpheus stain was also pretty drunk when she saw him and Clint.  When Carolyn looked at the camera, there were a couple of pictures that were taken during the blackout.  Pisces and Jim Jones? at the pavilion, and Orpheus dancing on a picnic table at the pavilion.  Good times, I guess. Heheh

Thursday night some people were indulging, and Eggplant and K-ren came looking for Brainleak at some point.  Later, Brainleak stumbled up in tears so Carolyn tried to be there for him.  Quote: “It isn’t medicine unless it makes you make sick-face when it goes down.” She walked to the north pavilion to let his parents know we found him.  They said it was fine as long as he wasn’t in a puddle.  It took and hour and 15 minutes for Brainleak to come down from his vision of hell.

At some point, Susie The Floozy, Dr. Hal, and others sat behind us. I, Rev. Xanatos, didn’t see Dr. Hal, who was right behind me, for quite some time. He looked as trashed as the rest of us. “How long have you been here?”, I asked. He paused for a moment to consider his answer, then simply said, “Since conception.” NICE!

Thursday night, Rob had grilled, and the grill was left out right by the shelter thing, so people kept tripping on it.  Rob himself tripped on it like 3-5 times.  It became known as “the grill of shame”.

20090703 (Fri):

Friday was the band that covered Miserlou and other songs Carolyn could recognize.  Rev. Spike was sitting outside in a pile of vomit in his lap.. With his phone in the middle of it.  Saturday, it was said that his phone was run over, the battery had popped out, and yet it still worked.  Carolyn checked on him but didn’t have the energy to do much else after two nights of taking care of Clint and Brainleak.

Quote: “You can fuck a dog and still have it be straight!”  This won the award for “Best thing said in the last 5 minutes” and had everyone in stitches.

Friday night, Brainleak stayed up all night drumming with the pagans.

808 and Christie arrived on Friday.  But we didn’t see them till like 8pm at the pavilion when the bands were playing.  We also didn’t see much of them on Saturday.

At some point, Teeters was wearing a nametag with Ivan Stang’s real name.  He commented that Stang told him he was ruining his good name.
Also at some point, not sure if it was Friday or Saturday, but there was a conversation about catheters.  Dildo Valerie said she had to change catheters for a living and that it’s not fun.

20090704 (Sat):

Saturday was the bonfire.

Saturday was the pancakes and scrapple..  Clint has finally tried scrapple because Carolyn had the foresight to get him a piece while he was getting his pancake

Saturday, we had a house salad and the quesadilla from the café

20090705 (Sun):

Our Rupture video:
Agent Lloyd’s Rupture video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUQdh1ebsEc

Sunday we were still not 100% sure if we wanted to leave Sunday or Monday.  Carolyn wanted to get on the road if they were leaving, but Clint wanted to stay for the bobby awards.  Carolyn got one for being “Goddess of mellowing the harsh”  She was called up pretty early.  Like the 2nd or third one.  Yay!  Clint got a double award for being the earliest xday casualty and best pass-out in a puddle.  Rob had nominated him.  Yay
Sunday we also chilled with 808 & Christie some more.  They made us some awesome peanut butter & marshmallow fluff sandwiches that were heated up on the sandwich press.  I had never thought of using that for a peanut butter sandwich, but it was a definite win.

By the time all was said and done on Sunday, Carolyn was like “since it’s now so late, I’d rather just stay now.” but we decided to go ahead and leave.  But Carolyn was like “it’s already 5 and the potluck is going on, so we may as well stay for that!”  Free food rather than having to stop to eat.  That worked out because the food was awesome.  Pasta, indian food, haggis, chips and artichoke salsa….  Olives with pits.  Carolyn tore those up, they were so delicious.  Fried donuts that “were just donuts” that looked like seafood poppers.  If it was shrimp and scallops, Carolyn would have eaten them, but when she found out they were “just donuts” she passed.

It took about 6 1/2 – 7 hours to get home.  We stopped in Breezewood again to top off the gas and pee and switch driving shifts.  We also stopped at taco bell and had some confusion with the order.

Three days of misery might have made it not worth it, but the awesomeness outweighed all that.  The misery wasn’t intolerable, and the awesomeness was just more awesome.

So, Clint just did the “When you were 17..” survey, and so I decided to do it also…. then I noticed he linked to his senior year survey, and that reminded me that I had that survey sitting in my drafts since February 19th… So here’s both of them.

When I was 17…

1. My favorite musician was:  NoMeansNo

2. My favorite song was: Who the hell knows at this point?  We can just say “What Slayde Says” and leave it at that.

3. My favorite subject was: Algebra 2

4. My favorite teacher was:  Either Mr. Linz the physics teacher or the Algebra 2 teacher.  I think her name was Mrs. Potvin.  I can’t remember for sure.  But I would write little stupid things all over my papers and she’d write back.  One time, the answer was 54, so I wrote, “Car 54, where are you?” next to it, and she wrote back being like, “You’re too young to remember that.”  But the only reason I knew about it was from staying up all night watching Nick at Nite, so she had a point.

5. I had a crush on:  Clint. I also had some psuedo-boyfriends while we had an open relationship, so I had a crush on a couple of guys before making the move on them.. Muahahaha,  Bill The Cat, Ian (who, oddly enough, I can’t remember his bbs handle…. weird, huh?), Bob (same thing.  I can’t remember his bbs handle, but he was Wishbringer’s neighbor).

6. Favorite food was:  uhh, all food was delicious.

7. My favorite hangout was: Skate City, or hanging out at one of the Fearsome 6′s house.

8. I wished I could be: with Clint
9. My plans for the future were: to get into Virginia Tech so I could be with Clint

10. My favorite TV show was:   I didn’t watch that much TV, but I think it was Seinfeld and Mad About You

11. I hated:  being away from Clint

12. It was the year: 1993

13. best memory: hanging out with friends

14. Worst memory: I must have blocked it.  Probably just being away from Clint in general.

When I was a senior…

1. Did you date someone from your school? Clint

2. Did you marry someone from your high school? Clint
3. Did you car pool to school? I drove my brother to school.

4. What kind of car did you have? I didn’t have my own car, but I drove my mom’s 1990 Mazda Miata, and pretty much considered it mine.

5. What kind of car do you have now? 1994 Pontiac Grand Am

6. Its Friday night. Football games or Party? I only occassionally went to football games my freshman and sophomore years.  My junior & senior years, Friday nights were usually spent at Skate City in Manassas…

7. It is Saturday night? Probably hanging around with the Fearsome 6.

8. What kind of job did you have in high school? My junior and senior year, I had a part-time data entry job in the dining services of a retirement home.  I got it through the Co-Op program.  Best decision I ever made was to say “Yes” when my Information Technology teacher asked if I wanted a job.  Leaving school at 1pm my senior year = WIN!

9. What kind of job do you have now? Government Credit Analyst

10. Were you a party animal? Nope.  I drank alcohol once my senior year when I visited Clint at college

11. Were you considered a flirt? Nope. I got more flirty after college (same as Clint’s answer, oddly enough)

12. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir? I was in orchestra in middle school

13. Were you a nerd? When I was called a nerd, I resented it.  But I guess I was….

14. Did you get suspended or expelled? Never

15. Can you sing the fight song? Nope

16. Who was/were your favorite teacher? Mr. Linz is a good one, but I think I liked the information technology teacher better… How bad is it that I don’t remember her name?

17. Where did you sit during lunch? Bah, I think I sat on the floor in the hallway and ate ho-hos..  Not sure if that was freshman or senior year though.  Sophomore year was with Clint, I think.  I’d sometimes eat with my friend Tanya if our lunches coincided, but I think I was usually in the different lunch period than her.  Grumble.

18. What was your school’s full name? Woodbridge Senior High School

19. When did you graduate? 1994

20. What was your school mascot? Viking
21. If you could go back and do it again, would you? Yes.

22. Did you have fun at Prom? Yes, because I was with Clint.  I think I had more fun leading up to the proms and having the flower fiascos than the actual proms themselves.

23. Do you still talk to the person you went to Prom with? Yes. He is at home sleeping.
24. Are you planning on going to your next reunion? Sure, why not.  I did go to my 10-year because Clint insisted that I’d regret it.  I did not regret it – that made-to-order pasta was AWESOME!

25. Do you still talk to people from school? Not really, unless you count facebook.  I did just add a bunch of old acquaintances to facebook… Oh, wait, AE and of course Clint.

Here’s my list of 25 random songs:

1. The Weirdos – Teenage
2. Hanson Brothers – Tranquil
3. Kreator – Betrayer
4. Moistboyz – Officer Please
5. Kreator – Love Us Or Hate Us
6. Kiddie P0rn XXX – Insect Pollution
7.  Victim’s Family – George Benson
8.  Chemlab – Neurozone
9.  All – Postage
10.  Screeching Weasel – Punkhouse
11. Gwar – Don’t Need A Man
12.  D.O.A. – New Age
13. Ramones – Surfin’ Bird
14. Tiamat – The Southernmost Voyage
15. NoFX – Dig
16.  Ministry – All Day
17.  Sabbat – I For An Eye
18.  The Church – Blood Money
19.  Ministry – Breathe
20.  Sisters Of Mercy – Comfortably Numb
21.  Sabbat – Do Dark Horses Dream Of Nightmares
22.  Ween – Light Me Up
23.  Sisters Of Mercy – Possession
24.  Bad Religion – Suffer
25.  Agent Orange – Broken Dreams

I’m surprised Voltaire didn’t come up, but I guess since there were duplicate artists (2 Kreator songs, 2 Sisters Of Mercy songs, 2 Sabbat songs, 2 Ministry songs), there was no room for Voltaire.  Also NoMeansNo should have come up, but I at least got some Hanson Brothers.

Carmine Burana mis-heard lyrics -  “Salsa Cookies! Windmill Cookies!”   You can’t get any more hilarious than this.

When Clint & I were watching Star Trek 2, I could not get over this ridiculous damage report.  Basically, Khan shoots the Enterprise in three key places.  Kirk asks Spock for a damage report, and they both get up and walk over to the diagram of the Enterprise.  Spock then points to the three red dots with Kirk watching, and the music going “da.. da… da..” for each dot.  It was hilarious!:

Continued from my previous blogpost.

I will blog about the actual trip later, but I felt like blogging about my new skis.

And the part in Joe’s Apartment where Joe was standing nervously by the door, and said to the girl he’s trying to impress, “Nobody here but us…<nervous laugh>”  As he starts to move, millions of cockroaches that were standing behind him in his shape scatter…….

20080626 - Dethklok ticket stub

After Ram’s Head had lied to us about the time that Type O Negative was playing (we called ahead, was told there were 2 bands before them that were playing a certain amount of time and that Type O Negative was going on around 10pm.  We showed up at 9:30 and had already missed half the set.), we decided to leave somewhat earlier to be safe.   We initially told Greg we were going to leave by 7:30, but then the day of the concert, we felt kinda nervous and thought we’d like to leave by 7.  Greg had already planned on 7:30, so he wouldn’t be able to get to our house by 7.  He did get to our house at around 7:20 and we rushed out the door to leave. Since I rarely do yardwork, the weeds in my yard have taken over. And actually, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I was inspired by Vicky to post 10 things in my yard.

Here are a few things I have in my yard.

The weather turned out fine.  Kipp & Gene strung three tarps together to make a lean-to for if it rained.  We had a bet going around as to when the rain would start.  It did start to sprinkle lightly, and we all high-tailed it under the tarps thinking it was going to downpour at any second, however, 5 minutes later, the rain stopped and never started again.  It wasn’t even enough rain to get your clothes wet if you didn’t seek shelter.  In the end, the effort of making the tarp wasn’t worth it since there was barely any rain.

Oranjello had a great time climbing trees, chasing bugs, and just being a kitten in general.  He didn’t stray far from us at all and so that was good.  At one point, he burrowed underneath my tent.  Someone asked me what I thought he was doing, and I said, “He’s probably sleeping”.  A few minutes later, he stuck his head out, and his eyes were half-closed and sleepy looking.  It was cute.  Later, he went into the tent and took a nap.  This morning, Oranjello was chasing his leash around this big tree.  So once he’d come around the tree, he’d see the tail end of the leash also go around the tree.  He spent 5 minutes trying to chase that leash.  Finally, he stopped and was just kinda sitting there.  I said that he was probably waiting for it to come around the other side.  Sure enough, Oranjello turned around and tried to cut the leash off, but unfortunately the leash was just sitting there limply and so Oranjello finally lost interest.

Gene found this weird flower/fungus thing near his tent.  There was a whole cluster of them growing in the ground, but it was only in that one spot.  We didn’t see any others anywhere else.  It was weird.
So, anyway, it was a good time, and I’m looking forward to having more trips this summer.

Thanks all who came to my party last night. I enjoyed myself, even if I was somewhat preoccupied with what happened to Beavis. Thanks everyone for your words of condolences and the birthday wishes.

We just finished burying Beavis. We had to go to Home Depot because we don’t actually own a digging shovel. Also, our bathroom sink sprung a leak last night, so we got a new faucet, and we already had a spare sink in our attic. Beavis is buried on the other side of the big tree in our side yard. Samhain is on one side, Misfit’s on another, and now a third side holds Beavis.

Anyway, I hope everyone had a great time, I know I did (all things considered).

After we had lunch at Rio Grande for Clint’s birthday, I got onto a plane headed for Chicago. Chicago itself wasn’t very exciting. I was there for training for my new job, and so I was only there Sunday evening through Friday afternoon. All week, my coworkers and I were talking about getting out to see the town one night so we can say we did it. We planned on doing it Thursday – the reasoning was Friday was a half-day so it wouldn’t matter if we ended up tired. (more…)

Stacy & Louise had a nice wedding yesterday. It was a Catholic ceremony, so the ceremony was long, but it was nice. I whispered to Sean, “Is Stacy’s baby here?” and Sean nodded. So I’m looking all around, but the only baby I could see was right in front of us (with a snotty that was too close to Clint for comfort. :) ) Sean informed me that was the wrong baby, and that Addie was being held by Stacy’s dad. Oh yeah, now I see her. (more…)

Here is the list of books I’ve read lately. (more…)

You scored as Jean Grey. Jean Grey is likely the most powerful X-Man. She loves Cyclops very much but she has a soft spot for Wolverine. She’s psychic so she can sense how others are feeling and tries to help them. She also has to control her amazing powers or the malevolent Phoenix entity could take control of her and wreak havok. Powers: Telekinetic, Telepathic

I had a great time skiing yesterday at Roundtop with Shannon & Kipp. Christian had to bail because he had hurt himself the week before and didn’t want to risk aggravating it. (more…)

We saw Voltaire on the 21st. It was the start of our long weekend because Clint & I were both off on the 22nd. Kipp came with us, and that worked out well. (more…)

So I’ve been really slacking on posting my Assateague journal. Here it is: (more…)

The first time we went to see Voltaire was ages ago. It was so long ago, that I don't remember when or where it was. But apparantly, I was not wearing black (Clint keeps saying I was in a white shirt, but I think it was gray). Anyway, it was awesome, and I was dancing and jumping around and I was the ONLY ONE… I would look around, and everyone was standing still. I remember bumping into the guy next to me, and saying something about dancing, and he said "Leave me alone, I'm tired". Usually, I'd be embarrassed, but Voltaire's so awesome, I didn't care at all.

The *next* time I saw Voltaire was in 2003. Shannon & Christian invited Clint & I to go to Nation's open bar Thursday night for Alchemy. At the last minute, Clint claimed he was tired and didn't want to go. So I decided to go without him. We got there, had a few drinks, and were hanging around. We decided to check out the band area, and I heard a Voltaire song. I was like "Oh my God! That's Voltaire PLAYING!!!!" Shannon & Christian didn't want to watch, but they knew where I was. Since I'm just one small person, I was able to fight my way all the way to the very front. After awhile of dancing and jumping around, I turned around to check out the crowd behind me. It was SUCH a different scene from the first concert. People were dancing and jumping and doing the same stuff as me. And then I was amazed when what looked like a conga line went by… it was weird.

After the show, I found Shannon & Christian and excitedly chattered around about how awesome it was that I came out, and how terrible it was that Clint missed it….. Shannon said "You should get him to sign your boob"… OK!! So I went up to Voltaire and explained how my husband didn't come out, and so to make him jealous, I wanted Voltaire to sign my boob. And he did! I went home at 2am and took a picture of it. Then I woke Clint up to show him. He was so jealous.

Anyway, on Thursday, May 4, we saw our third Voltaire concert (well, Clint's second). After the show, we were checking out the stuff, and we finally decide to get the new album and have Voltaire sign it. I told Voltaire about how the last time I saw him play, he had signed my boob to make Clint jealous. He shrugged because he didn't remember. So he signed our new CD, and then he asked Clint, "Should I sign your boob this time?". Clint didn't have a choice because I practically shoved him into the sharpie in Voltaire's hand. (really, my arm was already around him, and when I heard Voltaire ask that, I just gave him a little nudge :) )

Here's the result:
Voltaire signed our "boobs"

The Agent Orange concert was pretty good. Too bad we were just sitting around the club for 3 hours before they went on. That was annoying. We had called beforehand, and were told Agent Orange was going on at 10:30 or 11. So we got there around 9:30, leaving extra time to get settled and what not. They didn’t go on until 12:30.

At around 10, one band finished and another band started setting up. So I put my ear plugs in and everything. Since they were still setting up, I decided to get another drink. When I was standing in line at the bar, the guy in front of me turned around and asked me who I was there to see. I said “Agent Orange”.. and he said “This band goes on before them.” and handed me a card. So I went back in and caught up with Clint. I told him that the band playing was not Agent Orange. He said “I don’t even know if this is them”.. I keep telling him ear plugs rule because you can actually hear when people are talking to you. So I got him to go back to the quiet side of the club. I told him what the guy at the bar said, and I figured the band that went on was the band on the card. Nope! The next band who went on was the band from the card.

Clint & I were practically falling asleep by the time Agent Orange finally started setting up. We bummed a cigarette from the guy next to us who then started talking about 60′s garage bands (it reminded me of Mark somewhat). FINALLY, Agent Orange came on. I was amazed at how much energy I had once they went on. Don’t know if it was due to the cigarette, the excitement that the band was actually happening, the moving around to get to the floor, or a combination, but I was energized.

There was an annoying loser who was dancing and running around. It was way annoying, but then it got worse. His idea of dancing was to do jumping jacks. Ugh… What a loser! I got a kick out of when a Jaxx employee got on his case for doing the jumping jacks. The guy was trying to shake the Jaxx employee’s hand… Later on, the bassist said towards the other side of the audience “He wants to shake your hand, so shake his hand and stop being a baby!” I couldn’t see what he was referring to, but in my mind, it was that annoying guy got on someone’s nerves and he tried to shake their hand like he did to the Jaxx employee… hahah

During the last song, these two jaxx employees were trying to pry these two moshers apart… i was kinda watching them when suddenly they twirled around and across the floor into me and i got pushed into the railing of the stage and then knocked down. I was so surprised more than anything. It was like, they were at least 10 feet away, and then suddenly they were like 0″ away. This one guy helped me up, and then another guy asked if I was ok. Then Clint moved in and pulled me more towards the center of the audience. Who would have thought that the fringe was unsafe… After the song was over, Clint & I got to shake the lead singers (very sweaty) hand. then Clint said “Oh, we just dissed the bassist”.. So I quickly put out my hand, but the bassist dissed me because he was giving the setlist to some highschooler next to me.

As I was regrouping, I brushed my hand against myself, and yelled “Ouch!” because someone’s safety pin had gotten caught in my dress and it stuck me. Pretty funny!

Then we went to buy a T-shirt. Clint wasn’t inspired, but I got one for myself. We also got 2 stickers, and they threw the third one in for free. Whoo-hoo

Here is the setlist as compiled by Clint (with a little of my help) last night after we got home:

Miserlou (i think)
Everthing Turns Grey
Too Young To Die
No Such Thing
A Cry For Help In A World Gone Mad
It’s All A Blur
Voices In The Night
I Kill Spies
Secret Agent Man
Police Truck (by Dead Kennedys)
Breakdown
El Dorado
Living In Darkness
Bloodstains (Original Version)
The Last Goodbye

We saw Sisters Of Mercy at the 9:30 Club last night.  It was awesome.

Andrew Eldritch is going for the bald look now.  Great improvement over last time when he had the blonde “Clint’s dad” (coined by Clint) “Beach Boy” (coined by Dan) look.

It started out with First & Last & Always, and then moved into Ribbons.  He played some new song Crash & Burn.  While he was playing it, I thought to myself, “A good song to play next would be On The Wire”.. and Guess what!  He played On The Wire next!!  I never would have expected him to play that song.  It was awesome.  It was like he read my mind… or I read his….

He did play a lot of new songs that just remind me of every Sisters Of Mercy song wrapped together.

Oh yeah, when they first started, it was like the Voltaire concert all over again.  I wanted to let loose and dance, and the whole room was just standing there!  As time went on, some of the audience members started to sway, but I was the one who was dancing it up.

At one point, this short little girl was muscling her way through followed by an even shorter guy.  I thought they were just passing through, but when I moved over (to give them room to pass), suddenly that’s where they decided to stop.  Right where I had been standing.  I did my best to annoy them to make them leave, but ultimately they left because the girl got a text message on her phone telling her that her friends were by the bar on the other side.  So at least they left :)

Anyway, some other songs I remember are Dr. Jeep, Dominion, Lucretia, My Reflection, Vison Thing, Something Fast… I’ll probably remember more at random times. :)

So all in all, it was a good concert.

And by the way, I wore the ear plugs, and once again they enhanced the experience rather than hindering it.  It was my first non-Ween concert that I wore ear plugs to.

So far, being 30 isn’t so bad.  I’ve done lots of fun stuff this past week.

Of course, I had my party last Saturday to celebrate the last weekend of my twenties, which didn’t officially end until like 8:30 Sunday evening (Christian, Becky & Sammy spent the day with us.  Mark & Nathan were there for awhile in the morning also).  (Highlight of Sunday day was Christian saying “Crap, I woke up hung over and now I’m drunk.”  I asked, “What was that noise?” to which the reply was, “I just dropped my beer.”  That was hilarious!)
Thursday, Sammy & Christian escorted Clint & I to Nation where we proceeded to get Clint so drunk that we were eventually kicked out. :)
Going to Nation was really fun.  At first, I was a little bit bored.  You couldn’t hear what anyone was saying so there were times where we were just in a circle holding our drinks and not saying anything.  But once we had a couple of drinks, I started to loosen up and it got more fun.  Going to the front room where the music wasn’t SO loud helped.

Anyway, I think I ended up with 4 vodka cranberries, and one beer.  My second beer was filled to the brim when the Nations guy told me I had to take Clint home.  I asked him where Clint was, and he told me “That’s up to you”.  So I sent Christian & Sammy to the men’s room (most likely place, and it turned out that’s where he was) while Evan and I scanned the dance floors (least likely place :) )

2 days later, he was still feeling the effects of it…

Friday we went to the Moistboyz concert in Baltimore.  It was a great show, but it was soooo short!  Barely worth driving all the way out to Baltimore, getting there way early because apparently Moistboyz had showed up late and so they weren’t going to go on until like 11.  They ended up going on at about 10:45.  Clint had decided to go get a bite to eat while we were waiting.  He was gone for a little while when suddenly the band was on the stage kinda warming up.  I started to get worried Clint wasn’t going to make it.  As they played the first note of the first song, Clint walked into the bar.  He cut it close :)
Clint’s recap is here:  http://clintjcl.wordpress.com/2006/02/25/moistboyz-rock/

Saturday, Nicole, Greg & Adina came over and hung out.  We almost made it to Chuck-E-Cheese’s, but it was 10:00 by the time everyone left, and Chuck-E-Cheeses closed at 11.  So instead, Clint & I finally watched MirrorMask (great movie).
And now it’s Sunday and we’re actually supposed to get things done..  Mark is going to come over later to hang out and watch the shows tonight.  So, the crazy week is almost over.  I’m looking forward to more in the future.
