Customer Service

I bought an MP3 player from Sandisk for my mom for her birthday.  After a day and a half of giving it to her, the clip broke off.

I emailed Sandisk informing them the clip has broken and asked if they have a repair or exchange policy.

I received an email back from Sandisk Customer Service asking me to verify what the issue was with the player, and gave me some general troubleshooting tips for if the mp3 player was failing technically.

I emailed them back informing them that it was the physical clip that was broken.

They emailed me back a link where I could purchase a new clip for $10.

I emailed them back letting them know that the plastic is broken, so purchasing a new clip won’t fix the problem.

They emailed me back this message:

Dear Carolyn,

Thank you for emailing SanDisk Technical Support. It is our goal to make sure you have all the resources you need to get the most from your product.

We regret to inform you that physical damage on SanDisk products voids the warranty as stated in the last sentence on the first paragraph of the warranty:

“…This warranty is void if the product is not used in accordance with the product instructions, or if it is damaged as a result of improper installation, misuses, unauthorized repair, modification or accident…”

Unfortunately, Sandisk does not provide warranty repair services nor sell replacement parts.

Should you have any other concern with our products, please reply to this email.

Best regards,
Che S.

OK, so now I have a product that has no warranty whatsoever?  Ridiculous!  I do not recommend Sandisk anymore.

I was a guinea pig for TagCow. We figured if this was going to do what it says it’d do, that save us a lot of time tagging our pictures.

Just so everyone knows.  I don’t know how you can screw up a mousepad, but I attempted to use a Microthin Wow!Pad mouse pad here at work with my optical mouse.  And it sucks.  It makes my mouse skip across the screen uncontrollably every couple minutes.  Very strange.

Needless to say, I’m not using it anymore.  Sorry Glen.  It was a nice thought, and it’s not your fault it sucks.

Several years ago (2004), Melanie loaned me her copy of the first book in the Incarnations Of Immortality series by Piers Anthony. I didn’t even get through the first book when I knew I was hooked. I immediately got the rest of the series and worked my way through them. The stories were good, and I really like how intricately everything was tied together. It was almost hard to keep track of, but it all came together at the end. I really enjoyed the series. (more…)

Peapod has really been screwing up lately. For awhile there, they were screwing up every single order of mine in some way shape or form. Out of the past 10 times (at LEAST), they got two orders completely right. I was amazed. Those were the orders that I had delivered at a different time than normal because I was home during the day.

Today’s screwup was really bad. (more…)

So, I have an mp3 player that is awesome in every way, except for some reason, the battery does not last more than 2 hours. Over vacation, Clint told me the battery is supposed to have a 14-hour lifespan. So, now comes the time to try and get it fixed. (more…)

Maybe it’s because I’m dealing with a real store, and not a random computer-parts technical support, but I just had a very pleasant experience with a customer service call. (more…)
