My mom bought Butterscotch for my sister one day when she was sick and didn’t go to school. No fair. Vicky got to stay home from school AND get a new toy.I forget which ones we actually had after that. Our neighbor had a lot more than we did. I think I had BowTie, but I’m not positive. I *think* Jay had Bubbles….

I remember getting Butterscotch! Back story– I asked Mom for a My Little Pony and she told me, “Go outside and play with the real pony!” So it wasn’t looking like I was going to get one. Then I got strep throat and voila! My Little Pony. All I needed to do was to acquire a fever, a sore throat and miserable ache and pains. Who knew it would be so easy! : )

That is totally a Mom thing to say!
I never had any serious illnesses like you. You had strep throat, a sprained arm, mono….. I had the flu once. I guess I have a healthy immune system.
Then I grew up and got all the ailments: tonsillitis, appendicitis, silent sinus syndrome.
I’ve still never had mono. Clint’s had it twice. I’ve never had pneumonia and Clint’s had that, too… We did possibly have swine flu. That 3-day fever plague was horrible.
